Heroes of Dania
Bashashar, the Golden City, is the capital and largest city of the Rashian Empire. The city is found near the northern coast of the island and near the mouth of the only major river of the continent. According to the most recent census done by the Royal Survey Cabinet in the 23rd year of the reign of Emir Suahd in-Rashia, Bashashar has a population of 12,570.
Bashashar was built when the first human and elf settlers traveled here from Hasia over 1000 years previously. These first settlers came to the island in search of freedom from the discrimination of their home. With this in mind, the settlers established in Dania a new nation built on the principles of equality and justice. With its strategic location at the mouth of a river, Bashashar remained the capital city of the island even after other settlements had been built.
Due to the dangerous nature of the island it was built on from wild animals and bandits living in the desert, the people of Bashashar built a large wall to surround the city out of stone. This wall has stood strong for over 700 years. Within the city are most of the government buildings for the Empire including the Royal Survey Cabinet, the Royal Revenue Service, and Royal Army Headquarters. There are also many merchant houses, inns, trade depots, warehouses, and artisan’s shops. Much of the trade of the Rashian Empire begins and ends in Bashashar.
